Renée Monohan - Early Learning Center Director

Reneé Monohan has been a dedicated member of the SCCOG Early Learning Center team since March 2005. She began her journey as a teacher’s assistant and quickly advanced to lead teacher of the 3-year-old classroom. In January 2012, she stepped into the role of Assistant Director, and in June 2023, she was named Early Learning Center Director.

Reneé brings a creative and compassionate leadership style to her work, managing program budgets, writing grants, overseeing staff, and working closely with area school districts to administer the Universal Preschool Program. Her passion for early childhood education and advocacy for children is at the heart of everything she does.

Beyond SCCOG, Reneé is active in the community. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Trinidad Las Animas County Chamber of Commerce and teaches in the Expanding Quality in Infant Toddler Care (EQIT) Program through the Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Department of Human Services.

Reneé and her husband, Lewis, have lived in Hoehne since 2003. They have two adult sons and four grandchildren. In her free time, Reneé enjoys relaxing with her family and spending sunny days in her swimming pool. Her strong character, dedication, and joyful spirit make her a beloved leader and advocate in the early childhood community.


Becky Buhr - Early Learning Center Assistant Director

Becky BuhrBecky Buhr has been a dedicated part of the SCCOG Early Learning Center team since June 2002. She began her journey as a preschool teacher, taking a brief break from 2011 to 2014 before returning to the classroom. In 2023, Becky was promoted to Assistant Director, where she continues to bring her passion for early childhood education and her warm, welcoming presence to the center every day.

As the smiling face who greets families at the door, Becky plays a key role in creating a positive and supportive environment. She works closely with Director Reneé Monohan, providing essential administrative support to teachers and staff. Her responsibilities include billing, USDA food reporting, compiling enrollment packets, and helping families navigate the enrollment process.

Becky is known for her strong rapport with children and her genuine love for the work she does. Outside of the Early Learning Center, she enjoys photography, spending time with her husband Jayson, and has previously served as a Girl Scout troop leader.

Her dedication, kindness, and attention to detail make her an invaluable part of the Early Learning Center team.
