The Department of Social Services must pre-authorize all Medicaid covered trips out of town, and your caseworker must be called at least three days before trip date. If the doctor you are going to see accepts Medicaid for your appointment, we can bill Medicaid for your trip with pre-approval from the Department of Human/Social Services. Please have your doctor's name, address and phone number ready when scheduling your ride.
